The Best Thing You Can Do to Insure Your Baby is Comfortable

Saturday, March 12th, 2011

You can always get something useful whenever you visit your parents, especially on the issue of bringing up a child. I was given by my husband’s mother a book written by his pediatrician about anything in taking care of a child. The little book talked about medical stuffs while also incorporating his own insights on certain medical practices; from the changing the diapers to rashes to simple cribs (since convertible cribs were not yet invented before) and to just about anything.

I truly found the book very useful and interesting and made me not break the promise I gave to my mother-in-law when she said: “Promise me you’ll read this and I hope you’ll find this useful” while handing the little book.

Please read more on my story on my personal blg, where you can find a lot more information about how to care your baby and kids when a bit older.

Brother Wants the Mountain Buggy Duo Stroller if Company Does Not Want It Back

Friday, February 4th, 2011

Looking at some of the features that come with the mountain buggy duo stroller, it made me want to buy myself a double stroller even though I did not have any babies at all! I was busy doing a product review on the mountain buggy duo stroller the other day when my brother called asking me whether they are giving away the mountain buggy duo stroller to me as a gift for doing the review for the company. I just laughed at him and told him that I would check with the company after I had finished compiling a nice product review for them. Like I was saying, this double stroller came with so many awesome features that it makes me want to have one. The gear tray underneath the double stroller is able to hold up to a maximum weight of 5 kilograms of your baby products stuff that you will be needing when zooming around with your babies.

The Most Collectible Doll I Know of

Tuesday, November 16th, 2010

One of the most collectible dolls that I know of is the 1959 barbie. This is the first one that was ever made, so naturally it is the most rare and the most popular. They are not exactly easy to come by, especially in mint condition. However, if you are able to find one of them in this type of condition it would cost you thousands of dollars. That is the type of value I am talking about, that shows how much people are willing to pay for these. Barbies overall are highly collectible, and many of them can fetch ridiculous prices, it just all depends upon when it was made, and how many of them were actually produced. This truly is a fascinating hobby, and one that I believe most people would enjoy if they got into. If you are really looking for a great way to make some money on the side, I highly suggest you look into this.

Do You Want Kids Now

Wednesday, November 10th, 2010

During the second trimester, the vomiting and feelings of nausea should start subsiding. Cravings for certain foods might happen and you will probably feel hungry more often. Constipation is a common symptom during this time and you should ensure that you follow a healthy diet which includes fiber, and drink enough water. It’s important to learn about your pregnancy week by week. It is during the third trimester that you will feel the most movement from your baby. Your baby will develop and grow quite rapidly during this period. The baby will stand a good chance of survival should he or she be born at this time. During preparation for birth, you might well feel your baby’s foot in your ribcage. During the last month, your baby will gain about two pounds of weight and will be about twenty one inches long. You will experience an increase in urination by this time. The reason for this is that your baby is preparing for birth and the head will have dropped into your pelvic area.

Play Fun Baby Shower Games

Saturday, November 6th, 2010

Baby showers are important and meaningful parties for the mother to be and her friends. Usually, these are simple eat and chat non-events capped by cute gifts for the expectant mom. But why not defy the norm and make sure that the baby show you are planning is as fun as can be? You can create a theme for the party and really prepare a detailed list of activities. Treat it like you would a regular party, just without the alcohol, but not necessarily the dancing. Play baby shower games and really have the guests interact with each other. There are a lot of fun and safe games out there that focus on the baby and the mommy, the stars of the night, really. Play classic games that have a baby theme like a baby name hangman, or give a prize to the one who is guesses the mom’s tummy size. Or cutout old pictures to “create” the baby’s face.

Baby Crib Mattress Size Issues

Friday, October 22nd, 2010

Choosing the baby crib mattress size is often overlooked by the babys guardian. However, for most parents, instinct is developed overnight and they are aware that choosing the baby crib mattress is not to be taken lightly. Safety is the foremost concern of any guardian and the right baby crib mattress size plays a big role in security.

The baby crib mattress is usually standard in size and should fit into the crib frame with ease. However, crib frames come in different and styles sizes so a prudent parent will make sure to take note of the dimensions of the crib frame so that no chances are taken. Once the dimensions of the crib frame are known, the chances of taking home the wrong size baby crib mattress are zero to none.

Once the baby crib mattress is placed into the crib frame, there should be no space between the crib and the mattress. To do this, the two-finger test is done. Place two fingers between the crib frame and the mattress, if there is a space, then the size is wrong. However, should this test be done and there is no obvious space, then the baby crib mattress size is just right. Any space will pose a threat to the baby as he can suffocate if he accidentally moves towards that area.

The wrong baby crib mattress size can cause a bulge on the mattress, especially if the mattress is a size too big for the crib frame. This will cause discomfort as the surface should be smooth for the babys long hours of sleep. The baby will lie on the same side for a long period of time and can be harmful on its delicate bone structure. So the baby crib mattress must be flat and even and the baby crib mattress size relies on this.

Baby crib mattress size does matter and it is the guardians responsibility that this should not be taken for granted.

How to Keep Pets from Going Under the Pet Gate

Thursday, October 7th, 2010

If you have pets and use safety gates or pet gates to keep them in a particular room, then you know how challenging it can often be to keep them from going underneath the gate and getting loose in the house. It is a real pain to say the least. But, there are a few simple tips to help you out here.

The first thing would be to make sure your gate is not mounted up too high off the floor. I’ve seen some pressure gates sitting 6 inches or more above the floor. That is more than enough room for smaller dogs to get under.

Another tip is to put some heavy items on the floor on the other side of the gate. This will prevent your pet from being able to get under as well. Finally, if you are using a mesh style of gate, be sure it is pulled and locked tightly. Don’t allow any play in it and that will greatly help.

Baby’s First Bath

Sunday, July 11th, 2010

I found a great article this weekend while surfing, ‘How To Give A Baby A Bath‘, and it was really focused on a new tub called a Puj Tub, but it helped me a lot by answering many of our questions about what our new baby girl’s first bath should be like. We haven’t done a water bath yet, and have been sticking to the sponge bath so far. We will need to give it a try, soon, though. The Puj Tub idea seems like a good one, because we aren’t going to just put her in the ‘big’ tub and those hard plastic ones seem to be really cold and cumbersome. I also like the idea of giving a water bath in the sink, and at the same time having her in a bath tub. So, I think we’ll try to get one of these tubs before her first bath.

A Great Time With Your Child Playing Kid’s Tool Bench

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

I guess every parent can attest that they only wish what is best for their child especially when they reach adulthood. No parent, in my observation, prefers their kids to end up astray. On countless occasion a parent likes their kids to follow their trail in terms of career. This is certainly excellent, for me, in case the boy would like to grow to be just like you. Keep in mind, don’t push your son or daughter against their freedom or otherwise it could result to something not really good. If you are a carpenter or perhaps an electrical engineer you could consider first providing the child some sort of kids tool bench. These kinds of toy work bench generally is supplied in a whole collection which is completely risk-free for kids and toddlers. Your kids will uncover brand-new things about it and operate just like grown-ups! You can teach your son at times and join the act so you two will have a great bond together

Kid’s Water Shoes Are Important At Every Get-away

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

Every child wants to have a fun time in the water either at swimming pool, bath tub and yes, of course at the sea! Weekend or family trips are very common especially during summer vacation. This is a great time to have quality time with your loved ones and have a break from your work. When going to beach resort or the sea, the parent must ensure that everything is into place. This includes the picnic basket, sun block lotion, utensils and of course the kids’ accessories. One important accessory you shouldn’t forget is a pair of water shoes for kids. These are made of water resistant material and hard sole that will protect your child from falling or stumbling to slippery surface at the beach or perhaps getting hurt by sharp corals and broken glass lying on the shore. They love to make sand castles and play near the water so these apparel will keep them safe all day.
