We Just Love Our New Kelty Beach Tent

Thursday, August 11th, 2011

We just got back from the most fun family beach vacation ever! After spending hours looking for the best beach tents we finally ended up with just the right one. We were looking for a beach tent that was large enough for a couple of people but still compact enough to be easy to pack in the car and carry to the beach. My husband was sold on the large Eureka solar tent but I wanted the Grand Trunk Cielo. It turned out that neither were in stock and could only be back ordered. We were leaving for Florida in 2 days!

Our New Kelty Tent We ended up getting the Kelty Cabana from REI and couldn’t be happier! The Kelty beach tent is huge, yet super lightweight. It was large enough for us to set our table up under it along with a couple of beach chairs which was so nice.

The whole idea of a beach shade was to prevent sun burns but we all got them anyway. Apparently you have to stay under the beach tent 100% of the time if you want 100% sun protection.

SPF 50 would have probably been better than the SPF15 too. Oh well, lessons learned.

Driving to Papagayo Beach

Wednesday, May 18th, 2011

When we planned out our trip to Lanzarote, we forgot to look into car hire in Lanzarote. Good thing we were able to get a car for ourselves at the airport without any extra fees. It’s funny how our trip planning works sometimes. We forget about the simplest and most blatant necessities. Sometimes I wonder if I would be able to keep up with all the traveling we want to do. I think the little trip to Lanzarote was worth it though because we got to visit Papagayo beach, a place I have always wanted to visit again for a long time. I know that it’s not a big deal for some people, but it’s important to me. It is where my mom’s ashes are scattered. After we visited the beach, we drove around in our little rental card for awhile. I was a bit sad, but I got over it. Even though I just went there, I now miss it again. I don’t think I will ever not do so.

Wild Nights in Benidorm

Wednesday, May 18th, 2011

Your social life doesn’t need to suffer during your vacation to Benidorm. In fact, the nightlife here is world renowned. It’s one of the reasons this city is such a popular tourist destination! Plus, it’s a lot more than just dance clubs. There are dance clubs galore, to be sure, and we’ll get to those, but there’s so much more to also enjoy. For example, there are comedy clubs. These clubs are frequented by some of the funniest performers from around the world, and we’re sure that you’ll have a great time during your visit to any of them. There are also cabaret shows, and even some spectacular performances by some of the world’s greatest, most amazing magicians!

I said we’d talk about the dance clubs, and so we shall. No matter what genre of music you like to dance to, you’ll be able to find a club themed around it somewhere here in Benidorm. That’s because nightlife in Benidorm is as varied as the city’s diverse inhabitants and visitors. If your hotel has a concierge, he or she should be able to help you find the kind of club you’re looking for.

Oh the Ways You Can Go

Tuesday, May 10th, 2011

I met my husband when he was attending college. The same one I graduated from, but I had escaped by two years before him. He was an engineer, and loved what he considered to be the romance of steam and moving machinery and the “heart” of a device, rather than the wizardry and smoke of circuit boards and electricity as we experience it today. He described to me what “steampunk” was, and we even attended a few parties dressed in silly costumes glorifying the age of steam. So when I told him I grew up in a town with a historic museum dedicated specifically to trains, I think he decided to propose to me then. And we went on my birthday one year, and I must say that there is something still so poignant about that way of travel. It reminds us of both progress and slower times all at the same time.

The Weather in Torrevieja is Fine

Sunday, May 8th, 2011

Torrevieja, Benidorm, and Alicante are exciting Spanish cities to visit. This is true whether you are vacationing or doing business. There is a lot to both do and to see here. One of the things that many tourists rave about is the weather in this area. These are coastal cities that offer sensational temperatures. The weather in Torrevieja is mild during most of the year. July and August are fantastic for visiting these locations. The fine weather here makes tourists want to get out and explore. There are great attractions here to interest every member of your family. The vast salt lakes found here are very intriguing. They have become popular attractions in themselves.

One reason for this is that Torrevieja is one of Spain’s top salt producers. Millions of tons of salt are produced in this area each year. Nature parks, gardens, and beaches are other stunning attractions to consider. They provide brilliant views of this portion of the country. At the same time, they show the uniqueness of each offering. Strolling through the city is a good way to sightsee. You will find wonderful shops for purchasing souvenirs.

Showing off the Beauty of Bahamas

Saturday, May 7th, 2011

Personally, Bahamas is truly a beautiful place. Not only it is great for its beaches, it is also remarkable for having great and astounding luxury bahamas resorts. When I got the chance to visit Bahamas, I was truly ecstatic. No words could ever express it because every part was just simply stunning. The beaches were totally incomparable to others. Not only it is clear, it also has an even temperature that can be truly enjoyable. Well, the marine habitat was really outstanding as well. Snorkelling was one of the best activities ever. I got the chance to see exotic fishes and breathtaking coral reefs. When I got home from my trip, I printed all the photos and showed it off to my friends. Well, they were also impressed and amazed with it. Next month, I’m going back there again along with my friends. We just couldn’t get really excited anymore because I’m sure that they’ll love the place, too.

Moving Around in Budapest by Car or Public Transport

Saturday, April 23rd, 2011

Parking is not really easy, but the vast majority of Budapest hotels have their own garages. On the streets you must pay Monday to Friday, but also on weekends it can be really difficult to bump into an empty car park in the downtown. The community parking lots often have empty places, nevertheless those may be occasionally a little expensive. An interesting enchantment of Budapest is the plentiful underground medical water. The spas were already unveiled and preferred by the Turks, who controlled the territory 500 years ago. Many of the thermal baths have elements of Turkish decent. Today the particular baths apply the special water for rehabilitation and family programs. The transportation system is a strong point of the neighborhood. You’ll find three underground services and a bunch of tram lines and bus lines. They operate normally and ticket prices are fine. Transfer atlases are to be found at vacation agencies, and ticket purchase offices. Shopping is easy in Budapest, due to the fact that there are plenty of large stores even in the innercity. The traditional markets are also famous and you can find a couple of flea markets, as well the place where you may find many treasured antiquities or various other interesting things.

How to Find Cheaper Parking

Thursday, March 24th, 2011

When it comes to car parking in Leeds on a regular basis many people will be aware that it can be quite costly.

While working in Leeds can be a great career move for a person it is not so great having to spend a lot of money on parking your car every day. Maybe you have only been parking in pay and display car parks and can no longer afford to do this and are looking for a cheaper alternative.

One way to stay parking in Leeds without having to pay a lot of money is to hire out a private car parking space. There are lots of residential houses that are in or close to the centre of Leeds and many of these residents offer their car parking spaces for a rental fee.

Providing that you agree to the terms and conditions of renting out such a space you could hire one yourself and save yourself a lot of money.

I Want an Adventure

Tuesday, March 22nd, 2011

I haven’t done as many things as Id like to do in this world. The truth is that I’ve barely left the state I was born in except to go off to college for those four years. But, I came right back after graduation because I was too nervous to be that far away from all of my family and friends. But, now that I’m starting to get older I really regret not being more adventurous in my youth. You’re supposed to travel and make mistakes or you don’t learn from them. I should spend some time camping in some huge forest and then backpack through the mountains. Maybe I could go on one of those Uganda safaris and see creatures I’ve only seen in zoos. I only have so much time left on this earth and I want spend it being an explorer instead of being scared to make a mistake or two.

All Inclusive Cruises

Monday, February 28th, 2011

In a recent post I sort of pushed the bounds of objective journalism when I wrote that I am the most popular travel writer in the world because my stories and alerts about the costs of all inclusive cruises makes people aware that they must read the reservation documents carefully before they give any of their credit card information. I would like to quickly explain my opinion before some people who may be reading my updates for the first time might find me arrogant of not pompous. Let me start be saying that I am far from being the best travel writer out there. My goodness the field of travel and leisure journalism is full of professionals and aspiring amateurs that write better than I do but many are so stuck on their skill that they are much more concerned about style than substance. My writing style is constructed to be an easy read so that someone wanting the facts about all inclusive cruises can hit the page and get the information they need to make an educated decision for which cruise line they should consider on their next vacation. Not flowery alliteration just cold factual material that is easy for anyone to understand.

Home Home on the Wyoming Range

Thursday, February 24th, 2011

So I made the decision to take the plunge! I did it! I bought a piece of Wyoming Land! Now comes the hard part… I need to actually build my homestead. I don’t plan on anything to crazy… probably something like a hunting cottage. Picture a log cabin. Maybe just one room. I do want a big porch. Gotta have that. I just want to sit outside as much as possible and watch the sun go down every night over the mountains.

I really can’t believe that I own a piece of Wyoming Ranch Land. I was relitively easy to do. And there are some great deals to be had. You just have to look around. The economy is in the toilet still, so these land guys are really looking to get rid of this stuff.

The guy next to me in Laramie River, Wyoming, actually purchased two plots. I guess he plans a really large spread. I am much easier and more simple. I want to be at one with nature!
